Precision K-9 Services' training program was placed on the list of approved training programs with the OHIO PEACE OFFICER TRAINING ACADEMY in early 2002. 2007 - West Virginia Division Of Criminal Justice Services approved our Master Trainers Course for Police K-9 for 600 hours in-service credit, upon completion.
Our Training: Our training is very structured, we train in levels or building blocks only moving forward when the last level has been completed. When training the Police Service Dog we do not train with competition style training (i.e. Schutzhund). Our techniques & style of training pertain to the real working life of a Police Dog. Our training and certifications are practical. We are set up with local Law Enforcement and private businesses to utilize different working environments. This allows your dog to get real life exposure to the type of environments he will be expected to work in on the road. We stand behind our training because we have trained the dog we sell you. It did not come to us pre-trained. We do not let others train our dogs for us. We may have someone going through a trainers course and will help with training, to further their education, but only with our strictest supervision. Our Dogs: We train Police Service dogs for the sole purpose of police work and, unlike some other trainers, do not use competition trained dogs. We keep a limited number of K-9's on hand, for sale. We have a breeding program which allows us to keep pricing low, however we have contacts if you would prefer an import, at additional price. When we get an order from a department and we do not have the specified breed of dog, we obtain the green/untrained dog through our contacts then train it to suit your needs. Our past sold dogs include German, Czech, & French imports, as well as dogs bred in the U.S. but from German and Czech lines. We personally have a contact in Belgium for GSD, Malinois and Dutch Shepherds. We do not deal with American lines, with the exception of straight narc dogs (i.e. Labs), and they are out of hunting stock.
Our Breeding Program:
Under the name Von Der Schotterstrasse, we are breeding dogs with high working drives, hard
temperament, and strong nerves from some of Europe's finest working lines. I believe in proving the dogs
temperament, health, and workability, therefore you will usually see our
breeding stock with titles, and health clearances. Our breeding program consists
of dogs we breed, whelped on our premises, raised and socialized by us. We
start training our promising police candidates early. We use the older type blood
lines in our program. The breed lines in our dogs that we utilize in our
breeding program, we have been training for police work for over 10 years.
You can get an import, but
why pay several thousand dollars on importing and broker fees for an imported
dog that you haven't seen in person. Some departments want high dollar imported
dogs, these dogs may be from the same blood lines that are available here in the
USA. You can pay 12-18+ thousand dollars for an import and training, but that
does not make a good police dog, it is the training (& handling) that makes the dog, assuming
the dogs has the abilities to do the work to begin with.
A little fun anyone?
